Here are some webquests that are a fun way for you to work alone or with a partner and learn how to make good decisions about ecotourism. I will be posting more specific directions for use of some of these links. Have fun and learn a lot.

WEBQUEST TWO
Costa Rica attracts more than 1 million tourists annually who explore the rich ecosystem of this tiny Central American nation. Even though Costa Rica is
is very small, it has 6% of the world’s biodiversity. This is one ofthe reasons that Costa Rica has become a major destination for ecotourism - tourism
based on an area’s natural resources that attempts to minimize the ecological
impact of tourism on the environment.
You and 3 of your closest friends have spent the entire year working and have saved up $2000 each to take a summer trip. Your parents have offered to pay for your airfare, but you will be responsible for all other expenses. All of you have different ideas for your trip, but you all have agreed to travel to Costa Rica.
Each person in the group will assume a role in the planning of the trip including where you will travel, how long you will stay, where you will stay, and how much you will spend. After each member of the group has planned
his/her portion of the trip, you will all come together to meld your ideas
and create an itinerary for your 2 week trip. Be prepared to negotiate with
your friends as you may not have the time and/or funds to do all your activities.
